Bespoke Data Feeds – Data Item Checklist
This document lists all the data items that are available for inclusion in bespoke
data feeds of incorporated businesses from the ICC databases. You may use this as
a checklist to ensure that we include everything you want when designing your bespoke
feed.
Financial Analysis
The availability of certain data items will depend on the level of financial analysis
carried out by ICC. ICC analyses the accounts of all British and Irish companies
that are trading and have filed accounts suitable for analysis. The number meeting
these criteria is about 1.2 million (c. 3.1 million including those who have ceased
trading since analysis). Analysis means that companies can be compared on a like-for-like
basis irrespective of differences in reporting methods.
Due mainly to the varying disclosure requirements for small, medium and large companies,
accounts are analysed to one of two levels – Superset or
Subset.
Subset – These are known at ICC as ‘Subset’ companies because
the data available is a subset of that available for the larger companies. Selection
criterion: companies filing ‘small’ accounts. Analysed accounts for up to four years
can be made available.
Superset – Selection criteria: companies filing ‘full’ or
‘medium’ accounts. Analysed accounts for up to twenty years can be made available
for these companies.
The availability of certain data items for a given company will often depend on
which of the above two categories it falls into: this will be indicated in the Population
column below by the words Superset and Subset.
In other cases there may be other factors affecting whether or not a certain data
item will be available: these will also be indicated in the Population column.
